In conclusion, a wide spectrum of radiation treatment possibilities are available for all clinical presentations of RC natural history. We need to perform a global strategy of appropriate patient selection and combine the different treatment modalities including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, IORT, hyper-
thermia and (more recently) immunotherapy. These multimodality and integrated treatment programmes will allow a more conservative treatment in limited disease, better survival and reduction of local recurrence in advanced disease, and good symptom palliation in recurrent or metastatic disease.
