Figure 1.53. Internal postoperative hernia. Small-bowel series demonstrates a single dilated loop of proximal jejunum in the mid- and upper abdomen. Its fixed appearance on multiple films suggested that this was an internal hernia, not a simple adhesive small-bowel obstruction. This diagnosis was confirmed at surgery.
