- PAH is filtered and secreted by the renal tubules.
- Clearance of PAH is used to measure RPF.
- Clearance of PAH measures effective RPF and underestimates true RPF by 10%. (Clearance of PAH does not measure renal plasma flow to regions of the kidney that do not filter and secrete PAH.)
